About Miss Gay
I am 44 years old (that # keeps rising-aughh!) and have 2 beautiful girls and 1 handsome young man. Whitney is 25 years old this year and is starting her teaching career as a 4th Grade Teacher at West Ridge Elementary She graduated from LCSC in May and moved to CDA. Our whole family is excited to have her living in the same town as us again. Ali will be 17 in November and is attending PFHS. She keeps us busy with volleyball and basketball year round. She is involved in ASB, keeping busy with Homecoming events, as well as National Honor Society. She is an animal person by nature... connecting with the four-legged friends in the world at any chance she can get. My little guy, Griffin is 9 and not so little anymore! He has become a master bass fisherman, always reeling in the most fish for the day! He plays flag football, basketball and baseball. Brian and I lived in Boise for 12 years and relocated to Northern Idaho 6 years ago. We are enjoying the evergreen trees, and the beautiful lakes and rivers. I’ve found a new love for HIKING and kayaking the Spokane River.
I am originally from Lewiston, Idaho and enjoy anything that you can do outdoors. I use to play soccer, basketball, volleyball and softball. But in my old age, I’ve stuck to just volleyball. As a little girl I was quite the avid fisherman….my daddy was a firm believer in little girls gutting their own fish! I was excited to get back to the outdoors of North Idaho!
I graduated from Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston in 1999. I’ve taught Kindergarten, first, third, fourth and sixth grade in my career. I hold a passion for meeting the needs of all students in our diverse classroom and designing and creating learning opportunities that are authentic, organic and have real life meaning. I am a gardener, a reader, a writer, a coach, and a lover of all things creative! I have a passion for the Elizabethan era and Orca Whales (although I’m not too fond of many other things residing in the ocean!)
I look forward to getting to know you, your child and your family this year. If you EVER have any questions….I having a listening ear, don’t hesitate….we are a team! We are in this together!
